Dallas Fire Rescue Leads Dallas Police to Robbery Suspect

sta12On February 12, 2014, Patrol officers from the Southwest Division responded to a burglary in progress call at 7520 W. Wheatland Road. Witnesses who are employed by Dallas Fire Rescue  called for police assistance when they observed the suspect, later identified as Jarius Fowler, Black male, walking in the alley behind Dallas Fire Station number 12.

The suspect was carrying a flat screen television along with other property. Witnesses immediately recognized the suspect as the same person they observed  who burglarized eight vehicles in the parking lot of the fire station the day before – documented on case numbers 35432-B; 35434-B; 35435-B; 35436-B; 35417-B; and 35433-B. One of the witnesses chased the suspect, but was unable to detain him.

Officers arrived and took custody of the suspect. During the investigation, officers located a residence which had just been burglarized. The property that the suspect was carrying was identified and found to have been taken from this residence. The suspect was placed under arrest for Burglary Of a Habitation and transported to the Southwest Investigative Unit to be interviewed.

The suspect was then transported to Lew Sterrett Jail. The investigation of the Burglary of a Habitation and Burglary of A Motor Vehicle(s) determined the suspect was involved in both. The suspect is currently in jail on the Burglary of a Habitation charge only, however, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle charges are forthcoming.
