Dallas police made three arrests within the last 48 hours for two day-spa robberies.
On February 24, 2014 at about 9:00 a.m., two suspects, identified as Jacob Almond Brown B/M 23 years old and Ladarius Dewayne Bascom B/M 24, entered the Home Town Day Spa in the 2600 block of Walnut Hill Lane while get-away driver Antonio Cooper B/M 27 years old waited outside. Brown and Bascom pretended to be customers inquiring about massages and asking to use the restroom. Brown then locked the front door and robbed one victim at knife point while Bascom robbed additional victims in the rear of the business. Brown even threatened one victim with a tazer during the offense.
The next day, the trio robbed the Good Time Spa in the 2800 block of W. Northwest Highway, this time using a gun and zip-tying the victims inside the business. Quick response by patrol officers resulted in detention of Cooper who went on to implicate Brown and Bascom. They were later captured in possession of property belonging to a victim of one of the robberies. Surveillance video and statements linked Cooper to the Good Time Spa robbery and he has since been charged in that offense.
Brown and Bascom have likewise been charged in connection with the robbery of the Home Town Day Spa offense. Detectives continue to follow up for possible additional charges on all involved.
