Amber

Dallas Police Sergeant Chuck Young, with the Metro Unit, was sitting in his squad car when his phone exploded with noise as he received an Amber Alert.  He saw the alert from Temple, Texas about a Maroon Mazda 6 Sedan and relayed the notice to his officers.

Covert officers with the Dallas Police Department’s Metro Unit observed the vehicle in the area of I-30 and Jim Miller Rd. and saw the suspect drive away from the location.  Officers confirmed with Temple PD that they were still actively seeking the vehicle as they called in uniformed officers to stop the it.

Once uniformed officers in marked police cars got behind them, they immediately conducted a felony stop and apprehended the suspect, recovering the child unharmed.  Officers also recovered a gun inside the vehicle.

The suspect has been taken to the Dallas County Jail and the child is being taken to the Dallas Child Advocacy Center with no injuries.
