UPDATED: Police Positively Identify Murder Victim

The Dallas County Medical Examiner has positively identified the body of a woman found in a field near 9300 Teagarden Road on April 4, 2014, as Vivian Evon Saldana L/f/5-10-1999.  Ms Saldana was a student at Nimitz High School.  Her manner of death is being withheld to further investigative efforts.

Homicide detectives believe Ms Saldana was present during the murder of Jose Esquivel, L/m/10-22-1986, on March 22, 2014, at 9726 Abernathy Avenue.  Esquivel was shot after he met another man in what may have been a drug transaction.  Detectives do not know if Ms Saldana played a role in the murder or she was a witness.  Ms Saldana had a street name of “Swisher or Swisha Sweet”.

With the public’s assistance, Dallas police homicide detectives have made a tentative identification of the female found deceased in the area of I-20 and St. Augustine Road on April 4, 2014.

Detectives have met with members of the victim’s family and are currently awaiting an positive identification to be made by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office.  We will update this as information becomes available.


 

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown female who was found deceased on April 4th, 2014, near St. Augustine and I-20.

The murder victim has “Saldana” tattooed on her back which is written in cursive.  There is also a tattoo of a dollar sign on her ring finger.  She was wearing a necklace with a pistol pendent which is shown below.
