The Dallas Police Department is temporarily suspending its Police Vehicle Operations Course (PVOC) training and testing effective immediately.  The department is currently in the process of reviewing the procedures and best practices regarding the PVOC and will be implementing the necessary changes. 

The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) has conducted an evaluation of the department’s PVOC, and once the department receives the results of the evaluation, it will take TCOLE’s recommendations into consideration in implementing changes to the program.   The department plans to lift the suspension in time for all affected recruits to graduate from the Academy with their TCOLE license after the completion of all required training.
