On June 2, 2014, at approximately 10:30 pm an unknown suspect shot the victim, Bobby Ervin, in front of a convenience store located in the 4600 block of S. Malcom X Boulevard, Dallas Texas. The victim was taken to Baylor Hospital by DFR where he had surgery and subsequently died from his injuries on June 3, 2014.

During the course of the investigation, an anonymous witness, who knows the suspect, was interviewed by Dallas Police Homicide Detectives and identified the suspect as Damond Wiliams, Black male 6-17-1996. The witness stated that suspect Williams was the person who shot the victim.

On June 5, 2014, Suspect Williams was positively identified in a six photo lineup by an eyewitness as the person who shot the victim Bobby Ervin.
