UPDATE:

Cedric Jones  turned himself in to authorities last night.

Wanted for Aggravated Assault on Public Servant

On June 17, 2014 at about 9:00pm Cedric and Damian Jones robbed the Auto Zone at Walnut Hill and Plano Rd armed with assault rifles.  Unbeknownst to them, covert Dallas police officers were at the 7-11 next door.

The officers observed the robbery in progress and intervened to stop it.  As the suspects fled with officers in chase, one of the suspects opened fire on the officers in pursuit.  None of the officers were injured and the Jones brothers bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot in the area of Motley Drive and La Prada Drive on the border of Dallas and Mesquite.

Following an intensive investigation, officers were able to locate and arrest Damian last night (June 19th) and he is currently in the Dallas County Jail charged with Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant.  Cedric is still on the loose and is considered dangerous.
