STUFF THE SQAUD CAR CAMPAIGN

CaptureThe Dallas Police Department’s Youth Outreach Unit (Y.O.U.) coordinates youth crime prevention programs that utilize educational, athletic, and recreational activities to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth. Y.O.U. is based on the conviction that young people – if they are reached early enough – can develop strong positive attitudes towards police officers in their journey through life toward the goal of maturity and good citizenship. Studies have shown that if a young person respects a police officer on the ball field, gym, or classroom the youth will likely come to respect the laws that police officers enforce. Such respect is beneficial to the youth, the police officer, the neighborhood, and the business community.

Because of this belief, Officers assigned to Y.O.U. decided to step up and support children throughout the City of Dallas by facilitating a “Stuff the Squad Car” Campaign. Please join the Dallas Police Department and Y.O.U. help our kids by donating school supplies at a Patrol Station in your community or at Police Headquarters. There will be an officer at each station waiting at the squad car to receive your donations from 8am – 5pm on Tuesday, August 12th through Friday, August 22nd. After 5pm and on weekends, there will be donation boxes provided to receive your donations.
