The Dallas Police Department is committed to keeping our citizens and our officers safe. Because the protection of human life is our primary goal, we have taken the necessary measurements to ensure that our officers are equipped with the appropriate tools and technology in order to carry out their duties in the safest and most effective manner for all parties involved.  We are in the process of providing our officers with the smarter innovative Taser X26P and body worn cameras. The Dallas Police Department is also committed to being transparent and informative by providing insight into police work. With this, we are establishing the Officer Involved Shooting webpage to provide summaries and statistics on pertinent incidents. Through this establishment of trust, we aim to strengthen the community’s understanding of what our officers encounter, and thus strengthen our relationship with the public.
