The Dallas Police Department is seeking any information that can help identify the person responsible for the Murder Offense at 3200 Holmes Street.
Timeline of Events:

November 2, 2014 at approximately 9:42 A.M., a B/F was found deceased in a vacant lot at 3200 Holmes. The body was partially nude. There were indications she had been sexually assaulted. However, there were no obvious signs of blunt force trauma.

November 3, 2014, Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and ruled the cause of death as strangulation.

The Medical Examiner identified the victim as Amber Anderson, B/F 10-28-1988, through latent print analysis.

Physical evidence was collected from Ms. Anderson and has been submitted for analysis. Results are pending.

Homicide detectives spent several days canvassing the neighborhood and identifying potential video. Hours of video collected have been scoured by detectives, yet no information has been developed related to the murder.

The Southeast Patrol Division increased patrols and surveillance activities. Also, a comprehensive review of Aggravated Assault and Sexual Assault offenses was conducted by Crimes Against Persons Division analysts. No trend was identified.

Detectives also determined this homicide is NOT related to the Aggravated Assault offense that occurred on September 3, 2014 at 3100 Pine Street, commonly referred to as the Opportunity Park offense.

A witness near the location where Ms. Anderson was found recalls hearing a vehicle with a loud muffler, possibly a truck or SUV, in the alley between 2-3am.

Ms. Anderson was known to frequent the car wash at 2800 MLK Boulevard. Ms. Anderson also has been previously arrested for prostitution. It is possible she got into a vehicle at the car wash or nearby prior to her death.

November 5th, 2014, homicide detectives were present when VICE conducted a Prostitution Diversion Initiative at the Southeast Patrol Division and interviewed several individuals for further information.
