Sergeant Jerry Fonville, #8176, has been selected as the Dallas Police Officer of the Month, a prestigious award given by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee. Nominated by Manager III Kimberly Cole, Sgt. Fonville has been praised for the positive impact he’s made at the Property Unit.

Sgt. Fonville is active with the deployment and upgrades to the unit’s new social media program, Pinterest. He reviews high valued items that are unique to determine whether or not it is possible to reunite the items with their owner through social media. Sgt. Fonville is tireless in his pursuit to improve operations wherever he is assigned. He consistently recommends innovative ways to solve problems. The results of his hard work is evident as he has been a positive factor in the department’s evidence management policies and procedures which could affect every criminal case with physical evidence.
