Arrest Made in ATM Theft Attempt

On Friday, March 27, 2015, at approximately 4:24 a.m., Alexander Vo, a 29 year-old Asian male, born July 7, 1985, attempted to cut into the sidewall of an exterior ATM at 1838 South Buckner Boulevard (Chase Bank). Mr. Vo was unsuccessful, however he did activate the Chase Bank security system, alerting their offsite security team.

Dallas officers were notified of a Burglary of a Business in Progress and undercover officers set up surveillance on the damaged ATM, awaiting investigators and uniformed support. Undercover officers observed a white Yukon SUV, matching the suspect vehicle description, return to the location.

The vehicle fled but was found abandoned approximately eight blocks from the crime scene. Patrol officers searched the area and located the Mr. Vo, who was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Major Crimes Units’ Serial Crimes Squad to be interviewed. One suspect remains at large.

The arresting officers include Southeast undercover officers along with uniformed Southeast Patrol Officers Blevins, #10543, Gary Smith, #9844 and Kenneth Hughes, #10216. Kudos to the Southeast Patrol Division.
