Yesterday evening at the Walnut Bend Apartments, officers from the Office of Community Affairs, Northeast Patrol Division, the Mounted Unit, and Police Athletic League gathered together to reach out to the citizens of Northeast Dallas. Plenty of popcorn and drinks were on hand as parents and children came out to meet Officers from across the department. One of the highlights was meeting the Mounted Unit’s horses, Apollo and Cash.
The Police Athletic League brought a guitar and provided some musical highlights as well as discussing activities such as sports, Chess, painting, and even gardening that the department provides in an effort to reach out to the community’s youth.
Deputy Chief Acord, from the Northeast Patrol Division gave a speech and said, “We are all in this together. We strive to serve the Dallas Community in multiple ways, primarily reducing crime but as role models it is our duty to provide programs to help educate and bring us closer to those that we serve. We owe it to the Community to always strive to deliver the best service possible,”
Chief Acord welcomed feedback from the community on the Dallas Police Department can better serve the citizens of Dallas.
