Attempted Abduction

Update:

Dallas police detectives, who were assigned to investigate the report of an attempted kidnapping of a 12 year-old victim in the area of 2500 block of Community Drive @ Denton Drive, have learned through follow-up interviews that the alleged incident did not occur. The department has provided the reported victim with referrals to agencies that are better equipped to provide her with assistance for the difficult life changes she is facing.
The Dallas Police Department wants to say thank you to the community and media for their assistance in broadcasting the information on a possible suspect. We will continue to notify the public in the event of possible newsworthy concerns while at the same time conducting thorough investigations into such reports.

Suspect: Latin Male, 30-40 years old, 5’08” medium build. Star Tattoo on the right side of the neck.

On April28, 2015, at approximately 7:45 am, a 12 year old female complainant was walking on Denton Drive from Community Drive. The suspect was driving a dark color 4-door sedan, front passenger wheel was missing a hubcap and all other hubcaps were silver. The vehicle also had a red/orange apartment parking decal above the vehicle registration and the last number of the license plate is a 5. The suspect was wearing a short sleeve black t-shirt. The suspect, while staying in the vehicle, offered the complainant a ride and candy. The complainant was able to run away at this time.

On April 29, 2015, at approximately around 7:45 am, the same 12 year old female complainant was walking at the front of the apartment complex in the 2500 block of Community Dr., when the above suspect grabbed the complainant by the arm and pulled her to the back of the complex. The complainant was able to get away from the suspect. Suspect fled in a tan midsize pickup that was lowered and had scrap metal in the bed of the truck. The vehicle was scraping the ground as it went over the bumps. The suspect was wearing a short sleeve black t-shirt with a black jacket and khaki pants.
