UPDATE: In anticipation of the weather this upcoming Saturday, May 30 and the current conditions of the grass at Reverchon Park we have decided to cancel the upcoming K9 “Chief on the Beat” Going to the Dogs event.
The Dallas Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs along with the Canine Squad will host “Chief on the Beat” Going to the Dogs at Reverchon Park on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Reverchon Park is located at 3505 Maple Ave, Dallas, Texas 75219 and the event will take place from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Similar to DPD’s other “Chief on the Beat” Crime Prevention Safety & Health Fairs, this event is an opportunity for the Dallas Police Department and residents of Dallas to interact in a family friendly environment. Pet owners are invited to bring out their pets for this one of a kind, animal focused “Chief on the Beat.”
Entertainment and food are provided to the public free of charge. There will be multiple animal services and City of Dallas vendors at “Chief on the Beat” Going to the Dogs. James Bias, President of SPCA of Texas, will serve as emcee of the event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations by the Dallas Police Department Canine Squad. There will also be a pet costume contest and pooches will even have a chance to be part of the pet parade. Registration for the pet costume contest and pooch parade will be held on site, the day of the event.
Everyone is encouraged to come out and participate in this fun and informative community event. Follow us on social media using the hashtag #DPDK9COB.
