UPDATE June 16, 2015: The officer involved in the shooting incident at 3211 Reynolds Avenue on June 14, 2015, is identified as Police Officer Darren Burch. Officer Burch is currently assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division. He has 1 year, 9 months service. Juvenal Delbosque L/M/7-21-67 is being charged with one count of Aggravated Assault F/2 with a bond of $100,000 for his actions during the incident. Additional charges against Delbosque are under investigation.
On Sunday, June 14, 2015, at approximately 12:48 a.m. officers answered a call in the 3200 block of Reynolds Avenue regarding a disturbance, active shooter on foot.
Upon arrival, officers were given a description of the suspect and his location by witnesses. One officer encountered the suspect in the backyard, at which time the suspect fled back into the home. The officer pursued the suspect and then deployed and used his Taser. The suspect then produced a gun, at which time the officer retreated and discharged his weapon at the suspect. It is unclear if the officer struck the suspect.
It is believed that the suspect and other occupants of the residence were wounded by gunfire prior to officers’ arrival. All parties were transported to local hospitals. No officers were injured.
