Northwest Officers Nab Car Burglar

Car Burglar

On August 6, 2015, at approximately 11:28 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a prowler in the 9700 block of Dale Crest Drive. The call sheet described the suspect as a Latin male, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, tampering with vehicles at the location. Upon arrival, the officers located a Latin male matching the description.  That male was walking around in the parking lot of the listed address and officers spoke with the man who identified himself as Jose Garcia, a known burglar and member of the gang Tango Blast. The officers observed Mr. Garcia holding a car stereo in his hand, which he was attempting to conceal with his t-shirt. He also had possession of a flat-head screwdriver, a tool commonly used to burglarize vehicles. Mr. Garcia was transported to the investigative unit for questioning where he verbally admitted to burglarizing the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s property was returned.  Job well done to the officers out of the Northwest Patrol Division for locating, identifying, and capturing the car burglar.
