Homicide Suspect Arrested in Multiple Cases

On August 19, 2015, at approximately 2:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Motel 6 in the 1600 block of Regal Row. Officers found a Latin male in his 30s deceased from gunshot wounds on a second story landing of the motel. The victim has been tentatively identified as Jose Rubiel Aguilar-Hernandez.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., detectives received information that the suspect was staying at a motel in the 9600 block of CF Hawn Freeway.  Officers were able to take the suspect into custody on a bond forfeiture warrant for Robbery and the suspect was transported to Dallas Headquarters for questioning.

The suspect, Juan Miguel Andrade, L/M/31, admitted to shooting the victim at the Motel 6 in the 1600 block of Regal Row over a dispute. Detectives were told by the arrestee where to find the murder weapon, a .45 caliber handgun that was recovered nearby the motel.

Mr. Andrade was also a person of interest in the murder that occurred in the 900 block of Pleasant Drive on August 16, 2015, where Javier Chacon L/M/48, was killed. Andrade admitted his involvement in that murder, where .45 caliber shell casings were found at the scene. Comparisons on the shells from both murders are being made at this time.

Mr. Andrade is being held on two murder warrants for $1,000,000 each for a total of $2,000,000.

During our interviews with Mr. Andrade, he has stated that he was involved in other felony crimes in Dallas and in other states. We are examining our cases and have found offenses where Mr. Andrade may be involved. If evidence is found that links Mr. Andrade to these offenses, Dallas detectives will file additional charges.
