The Dallas Police Department was recognized and awarded for its community policing efforts during a monthly Community Policing in Action photo contest sponsored by COPS. The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is a division within the U.S. Department of Justice that is dedicated to community policing services.  

Dallas Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs develops educational safety programs and crime prevention programs for all ages, all over the city. The department also has several youth programs that focus on building relationships with children and young adults early on in order to build trust with law enforcement officers.
