Vehicle of Interest

On Wednesday September 2, 2015 at about 7:45pm, Ms. Kendra Hatcher W/F 35 arrived at the parking garage of the Gables Park 17 apartments in the 1700 block of Cedar Springs Road.  Sometime prior to her arrival, a vehicle of interest described as an older model Jeep Cherokee with damaged or faded paint on the hood and displaying a paper buyer tag, pulled into that garage – following another vehicle through the gate.

Once Ms. Hatcher parked her car, an individual got out of the vehicle of interest and appeared to approach her.  Witnesses describe hearing a gunshot and the individual got back into the vehicle of interest and it drove out of the parking garage.  Ms. Hatcher was found next to her car deceased from a gunshot wound.  We believe the occupant or occupants of that vehicle likely have information related to the offense and are asking for the community’s help in locating the vehicle and any occupants.  Detectives continue to follow up searching for additional evidence and are canvassing the local businesses for any leads.  Additionally we have increased patrols in the area and remind everyone to be vigilant about their surroundings and to report any suspicious behavior to 9-1-1.

We appreciate the residents’ patience while we had the garage closed during the on-scene investigation and we ask that anyone with additional information, cell phone video etc… contact Detective Barnes with the Dallas Police Department Homicide Unit at 214-283-4818.
