Update: On December 8, 2015, the Crimes Against Persons Unit released the mugshots of the Robbery Suspects mentioned below.
On December 6, 2015, at about 1:00 a.m,, officers responded to a parking garage in the 2100 block of Medical District Drive regarding an aggravated robbery. Officers spoke to the victim who described having been robbed and assaulted at gunpoint by two B/M suspects who then took her wallet and car keys and fled in her car.
Officers broadcast a description of the car and Robbery detectives began their investigation. At about 2:30am, patrol officers observed 2 B/M suspects in the victim’s stolen car in the area of 4000 Cedar Springs where they appeared to be watching to rob additional victims. Officers followed the vehicle and conducted a felony stop at a convenience store in the 3700 block of Maple Avenue where both suspects were taken into custody.
Officers have recovered two guns from the suspects and both those handguns were reported stolen out of Irving, Texas. Dallas police arrested Deon Fridia B/M/18 DOB 11-7-1997 and Donedwin Maxie B/M/18 DOB 11-4-1997. Both have been charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, a 1st Degree Felony and taken to the Dallas County Jail.
As a matter of course we will be investigating as to whether or not we are able to tie these suspects to any of the other offenses committed in the Oak Lawn area. We anticipate conducting photo lineups with these suspects and are therefore not releasing their photos. We likewise ask the media to refrain from releasing their photos until we have the opportunity to conduct those lineups.
We will provide additional details as they become available and appropriate for release.
