On October 25, 2015, Maria Nieto-Martinez was fatally injured in a vehicle accident and her body was transported to the Calvario Funeral home at 300 W. Davis, Dallas, Texas. Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s body was received by the arrestee Juan Vasquez, a Latin male 09/21/1982.
On October 29, 2015, Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s sister began receiving emails on Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s account showing charges being made to her credit card. Family members checked Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s personal property, which had been released to them arrestee Vasquez, and discovered Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s credit card was missing.
Dallas Police Financial Crimes detective contacted several establishments in which Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s credit card was fraudulently used and was able to obtain photo evidence of arrestee Vasquez using Ms. Nieto-Martinez’s stolen credit card.
Arrestee Vasquez was arrested on a warrant on December 15, 2015, and has been charged with Credit Card Abuse a State Jail Felony.
The Dallas Police Department wishes to extend condolences to the family of Maria Nieto-Martinez and hopes this outcome brings peace and some closure to a horrific experience.
