The Dallas Police Department is proud to again partner up with the VNA to help deliver Meals on Wheels this holiday season. Today, December 18, 2015, the Dallas Police Department, with a little help from Santa Chief, and employees participated in the “Deliver the Joy” helping deliver over 360 meals to those in need.
The VNA is a nonprofit organization, established in 1934 to help the elderly aged community in the comfort of their home. This caring organization provides services, knowledge, support, and necessary referrals to help thousands of North Texans. During the cold and busy holiday season, the VNA delivers hot freshly prepared meals to over 4,000 Dallas County residents in a program they call Meals on Wheels. The homebound residents are unable to access grocery stores and unable to provide for themselves due to illness, advanced age, or disability. Without the VNA and Meals on Wheels, these individuals would go hungry by themselves during the season where they should be surrounded by the warmth, love, and generosity of friends and family.
