Keeping Dallas Safe: Great Arrests Made Over the Weekend

On January 22, 2016 at about 7:30 p.m., officers from the Southeast Patrol Division answered a call in the 400 block of Woodmont Drive about a possible vehicle burglary in progress. Officers arrived quickly and observed a Latin male suspect carrying a wrench and a screw driver as he walked away from the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was also carrying property that belonged to the victim. The suspect was arrested for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, at about 12:47 a.m., officers in the North Central Patrol Division responded to a call about a vehicle burglary in progress in the 13400 block of Preston Road. When the officers arrived, they saw the Latin male suspect running from the victim’s vehicle while carrying a power drill, a screw driver, and parts from the victim’s vehicle. Officers were involved in a brief foot chase with the suspect before taking him into custody and placing him under arrest for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. 

On Sunday, January 24, 2016, at about 11:05 p.m., Northeast Patrol officers responded to a call about a vehicle burglary in progress in the 5700 block of E. University Boulevard. Officers in the police helicopter spotted the Black male suspect near the victim’s vehicle and lit him up with a spotlight until ground officers could arrive and take him into custody. The suspect was arrested for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
