Help Identify Suspects on Robbery Spree

On February 3, 2016, at 2:36 a.m., a black male suspect wearing a white hoodie and black pants entered the Residence Inn by Marriott located at 10333 North Central Expressway. The suspect jumped over the counter and pointed a gun at the employee.  The employee stepped back while the suspect removed cash from the register.  The suspect then walked up to a visitor at the hotel, and while holding the gun to his side, demanded her watch. The suspect fled the hotel with the cash and the watch.

At 2:46 a.m. the same suspect approached the locked front door to the Stay America Hotel located at 12121 Coit Road. The suspect smashed the glass out of the front door, entered the hotel and made his way to the vacant office.  The suspect located a key to the register, opened the register, and stole the cash. An employee who observed this offense on a closed circuit television telephoned 9-1-1. This was reported as a burglary  on case #027050-2016.

North Central patrol officers responded to the call and observed the suspect walk from the Stay America Hotel and enter a silver Chevrolet Impala.  Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle but the suspect vehicle fled and officers followed.  The suspect vehicle was disabled by spike strips deployed by Richardson Police Officers and came to a stop at 15500 El Estado in Dallas.

Joshua Douglas Wesson, B/M/01-19-85, jumped from the front passenger seat and fled on foot. He was captured a short distance away by a canine officer.  Erica Nicole Bonner, B/F/11-05-84, stepped from the driver seat and surrendered.

Mr. Wesson and Ms. Bonner were transported to police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives.  Mr. Wesson admitted to his involvement in the Aggravated Robbery of the Residence Inn and to robbing an individual inside the hotel as he was leaving.  He went on to admit to having committed the burglary of the Stay America Hotel.

Additionally Mr. Wesson admitted to his involvement in 5 Aggravated Robberies that occurred on February 1st and February 2, 2016. These offenses where highlighted in a February 2nd Dallas Police press release.
