Keeping Dallas Safe: Southwest Patrol Officers Arrest Two Burglars

On February 18, 2016 at about 3:05 p.m., officers in the Southwest Patrol division responded to a call about two suspicious males possibly sorting through and unloading stolen property in the 2700 block of W. Brooklyn Avenue.  Officers arrived and observed two Latin male suspects sorting jewelry in a pillowcase on the ground. The officers observed that there were several laptop computers next to the suspects as well. Officers were able to detain one of the suspects while the second suspect fled on foot. The officers found the second suspect hiding in a backyard not far from the original call location.

After looking through the property, the officers were able to identify and contact two victims. The victims told officers that their homes had recently been burglarized and their property was stolen. The suspects were arrested and transported to Lew Sterrett Jail. The officers were able to return the stolen property to the rightful owners.

The first suspect Christian Serrato L/M 12/15/1998 was charged with Burglary of a Habitation and the second suspect, Daniel Salazar L/M 12/16/1992, was charged with felony Theft. This offense is documented on case number 039811-2016.
