Violent Crime Task Force

Last year marked an unprecedented 12 consecutive year of crime reduction in the City of Dallas. The men and women of the Dallas Police Department worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone and will continue to do so in order to make Dallas the safest city in the country.

The Dallas Police Department is launching a Violent Crime Task Force to reduce the increase in violent crimes. The initial five areas have been identified through crime analysis as the focus for this effort. However, we will continue to identify other areas and re-adjust our resources as needed. The following are the first areas that have been identified:

  • Forest Audelia
  • Five Points
  • Ross Bennett
  • Hampton Ledbetter
  • Hatcher Scyene (to include Julius Schepps Central and Central CF Hawn)

On March 2, 2016, Deputy Chief Paul Stokes will head up the Task Force of 170 sworn officers and supervisors from SWAT, Metro Task Force, Gang Unit, and Narcotics.
