2016 Youth World Spring Break Cook-Out & Grocery Give-Away

On Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., the Youth World Center hosted the 2016 Spring Break Cook-Out and Grocery Give-Away.   The event was extended to all families in the community, even the Dallas Police Department Family.  In fact, this is the third year DPD has attended this event. Community Outreach Representatives and officers from various units responded to the invitation and showed up in plenty to engage with the citizens and children alike during this free carnival and grocery give-away.  More than 500 people attended and at least 200 families received groceries.  The activities included bounce houses and a petting zoo, in addition to games like soccer and basketball.  The Dallas Police Athletic League even provided the game 9-square.
