On March 16, 2016, at about 1:00 a.m. a male victim, 60 years old, was sitting in his truck in a parking lot at 500 North Hampton Road when a Latin male suspect opened the passenger door to his truck and climbed in. The male suspect was armed with a knife and demanded the victim’s cash.
The suspect then demanded that the victim drive him to Pleasant Grove. The victim drove the suspect to 2200 John West where the suspect demanded that the victim withdrawal money from an ATM. The victim informed the suspect that he had no debit card. The suspect then began stabbing the victim in the head and face resulting in serious bodily injury to the victim.
The victim managed to escape from the cab of the truck by opening the door and falling to the pavement. The suspect got into the driver seat and drove over and dragged the victim. The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition. The victim’s truck was found abandoned at 4800 Olson and is in the Dallas police auto pound.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, with straight black hair. The suspect was wearing a hoodie at the time of the offense. The suspect’s first name is believed to be “Richard”. During the assault, the victim may have injured one of the suspect’s ears and he may therefore have a fresh injury. This offense was reported on case # 063056-2016.
