Matthew Deshon Robinson

Dallas Police Homicide Detectives received information that Matthew Deshon Robinson, a 19-year-old black male, was responsible for the Capital Murder of  Julio Gerardo Delarosa L\M 18-years-old. On April 11, 2016 detectives were notified that Matthew Deshon Robinson had been arrested on traffic citations in Natchitoches, Louisiana. On April 12, 2016, Dallas Police Homicide Detectives secured a Capital Murder warrant on Matthew Deshon Robinson with a $500,000 bond.  He will be held in Louisiana pending extradition proceedings.

The second individual killed in this morning’s shooting on Whitehurst Drive has been identified as Julio Gerardo Delarosa L\M 18-years-old.

In the early morning of March 28, 2016, at approximately 12:33 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 9911 Whitehurst Drive. Upon officers’ arrival, they found Derek Jordan, a 19-year-old black male, deceased from gunshot wounds. At 12:34 a.m., Dallas Police were dispatched to a second shooting  call at 9540 Royal Lane regarding a victim who was shot. Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported a 19-year-old Latin male victim to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. This investigation is still ongoing, but it appears that both victims were involved in a drug transaction at 9911 Whitehurst Drive. During the transaction, there was an exchange of gunfire when Jordan and an accomplice attempted to rob the victim and a witness.  The second victim’s identification will be released following a next of kin notification.
