On March 22, 2016, Casey Breedlove and Brent Rawls were shot and killed at the Highland Road Village Apartments located in the 2700 block of South Cockrell Hill Road. Dash-cam video from one of the patrol officers who arrived at the scene captured this image of a single cab pick-up truck leaving the scene. Detectives want to identify the driver of this truck as he is a possible witness in this case. Witnesses described the truck as a dark color, single cab, older model full size pick-up truck, possibly a Chevrolet. On March 22, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Dallas Police officers responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of S. Cockrell Hill Road. Upon arrival, officers found two victims shot. One victim was deceased in a vehicle and the other was found lying in the parking lot. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Witness statements led detectives to an apartment that appears to be connected to these murders where illegal narcotics were confiscated. We are still working on identifying the victims and will release the names when they have been positively identified and next of kin notifications have been made.
Detectives are currently following up and working to identify additional witnesses and gather information.
