Officer Involved Shooting: 4800 Columbia Avenue

The officer involved in Saturday morning’s officer-involved shooting is:

An aggravated robbery offense was filed, but no suspect has been identified at this time. We will release additional details as they become available and appropriate to do so.

Original Post:

On April 16, 2016 shortly after midnight, an undercover officer was working in the 4800 block of Columbia Avenue in an unmarked vehicle when a Latin male suspect possibly in his 20’s, approximately 5’6″ with short cropped hair in a blue hoodie and blue jeans, approached the officer with a handgun and demanded the officer’s property. At some point during this aggravated robbery, the officer was able to draw his handgun and there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the officer.  The suspect fled the location on foot and his condition is unknown. The officer was uninjured.
