On April 20, 2016, at approximately 10:53 p.m., a male victim made arrangements on a phone app to meet the suspects at 3550 E. Overton Road to purchase a cell phone. When he arrived, he met with Suspect Raymundo Deleon L/M 25 who showed him the phone that was allegedly for sale.
Moments later, Suspect Deshea Willis, B/M 31 walked up and pointed two handguns at the victim and demanded his property. The suspect surrendered his money, cell phone and car keys. Deleon fled in the victim’s Chevrolet Camaro.
Suspect Willis accidentally shot himself in the leg with one of the handguns as he fled on foot. He was arrested and transported to DPD Headquarters after receiving medical treatment.
Detectives responded to the location. During their investigation, they found Deleon, who matched the description of the second suspect. Deleon was arrested for Violation of a Protective Order and was also transported to DPD Headquarters. The victim’s cell phone was found in Deleon’s pocket.
Both suspects are charged with Aggravated Robbery.
