On April 29, 2016, at about 1:30 a.m., the victim was asleep in his apartment at 3308 Storey Lane when he heard a loud banging at his front door. As the victim walked toward the door the suspect kicked open the door and struck the victim in the face with an unknown object numerous times knocking out several teeth and causing considerable injury. The suspect left the victim lying on the floor and fled the apartment with the victim’s wallet, cell phone, and television.

A neighbor heard loud banging at the victim’s apartment and called 9-1-1 reporting a burglary in progress. Officers responded in a very short time and caught the suspect walking away from the victim’s apartment carrying the stolen television. Francisco Javier Chaves, a 31-year-old Latin male, was arrested and charged with  Robbery.

A great job was done by the officers who responded to the location and to the citizen who placed the 9-1-1 call!
