On May 2, 2016 at about 11:15 p.m., officers in the Central Patrol division responded to a call about a robbery in the 5500 block of Junius. The victim was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by an unknown Black male suspect. The suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone and wallet, which she was holding in her hands. The victim struggled with the suspect and during the struggle the suspect pushed the victim to the ground and punched her in the head. The suspect then fled the location on foot. A witness called for police and gave a description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Central Patrol officers responded quickly to the location and located the suspect, Davion Chumbley an 18-year-old Black male, hiding under a wooden patio deck in the back yard of a residence nearby. The officers found the victim’s property on the suspect and were able to return it to the victim. Davion Chumbley was arrested for robbery and transported to the county jail. Thanks to the hard work of the Central Patrol officers and a vigilant citizen, another violent criminal is off the street. Great work!
