On May 12, 2016, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Erik Wilson and members of the community recognized National Law Enforcement Appreciation Month by hosting a continental breakfast to honor all officers. The event was held at Southwest Center Mall in the atrium area. While officers grabbed a quick cup of coffee and a small danish, they took their seats as the guest speakers took the stand and showed their support to law enforcement. The event was dedicated to all law enforcement and a moment of silence was taken to remember those who have served.
The Dallas Police Department would like to thank the Southwest Center Mall, retired Pro Football player Greg Ellis, Carter High School students, and Mayor Pro Tem Erik Wilson for showing their support to their local law enforcement.
