On June 17, 2016, Jesus Rodriguez was arrested with assistance from the United States Marshal North Texas Fugitive Task Force and transported to the Dallas Police headquarters. Arrestee Rodriguez confessed to murdering the victim and is currently in the Dallas County jail for Murder on $150, 000 bond.

On Friday, February 5, 2016, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shots fired call at 514 S. Willomet Ave. Shortly after their arrival, officers received a second call regarding a shooting victim at Methodist Central Hospital. The victim, Jesus Ricardo Hernandez, L/M 16, and witnesses had observed their mother being assaulted by the suspect Jesus Anthony Rodriguez L/M 26. They pulled Rodriguez off of her, took him outside and began assaulting him.
Rodriguez displayed a handgun and reportedly fired into the air. Hernandez and witnesses ran, however Rodriguez followed and shot Hernandez. He was transported to Methodist Central Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Suspect Rodriguez fled from the location and is still at large.
