As a result of the investigation, Homicide detectives developed information linking Arrestee Geneva Vasquez, a Latin female 48-years-old, to the death of victim Joe Moreno, Jr. on July 1, 2016. A witness contacted the Dallas Police Department stating Vasquez wanted to turn herself into police. Vasquez was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where she was read her Miranda warning. Vasquez voluntarily waived her rights by agreeing to speak with detectives. Vasquez admitted to stabbing the victim, Joe Moreno in the leg. Vasquez has been charged with murder and placed in jail on a $150,000.00 bond. Below is the link to the probable cause affidavit.

On July 1, 2016, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Dallas Police responded to the 400 block of W. Montana Avenue regarding a male lying in the street. The victim, an unknown male, was found deceased from homicidal violence. The Dallas Police Department is asking anyone with information about this murder contact the Homicide Unit at 214-671-3661 or Detective Wilkins at 214-671-3665.
