Candlelight Vigil Tonight, President Obama Will Visit Tomorrow Morning

Dallas – Tonight, the Dallas Strong Candlelight Vigil will begin at 8 p.m. at Dallas City Hall Plaza, 1500 Marilla St. DART will provide free shuttle service to the vigil from the Dallas Convention Center, starting at 6 p.m., continuing one-hour post vigil. The vigil is open to the public and the City encourages all to attend and use DART transportation.

Tomorrow, President Obama will speak at an interfaith ceremony honoring our fallen officers. The private event will be held at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. He will also meet privately with the families of the fallen police officers and those who were injured.

For security reasons, we are unable to list specific downtown street closures, but drivers should expect significant delays tonight and tomorrow. Dallas Police and the Streets Department strongly recommend that residents plan their workday accordingly by flexing their time; arriving and leaving earlier or later in the day if possible.
