On July 18, 2016 between 6:00AM and 6:30AM three shootings were reported involving motorists on S. Hampton Road between W. Illinois Avenue and Loop 12. Aggravated Assault cases were made on service numbers:
- 172674-2016
- 172698-2016
- 172703-2016
Three separate victims were shot at, one of which was injured. The three victims provided the following descriptions of the suspect vehicle
- silver or grey pickup truck
- black matte finish pickup truck with oversized tires
- white pickup truck
Given the varying suspect vehicle descriptions, it is unknown whether these incidents are related. The narrow time frame and geographic proximity indicate that they likely are related.
The suspect vehicle may have damage to the rear passenger side tire or quarter panel. One victim described an unknown suspect wearing dark gloves and a mask as the shooter. There is no apparent relationship between the victims and there were an unknown number of occupants in the suspect vehicle.
