Dallas Police Department Sees Rise in Applicants

The Dallas Police Department has seen an unprecedented surge in applications since Chief Brown called upon protesters and others to help improve police community relationships.  Our recruiters are contacting those applicants and also responding to the many phone calls and email inquiries into becoming a Dallas Police officer. We are processing those applications for the best qualified candidates to join our department. We normally hire 15% of the applicants that follow through with the entire hiring process.

We are very pleased with the interest and the surge of applicants. We don’t have the demographic or motivations of the applicants thus far.  We will certainly follow through with processing and hiring the best qualified candidates.

We are also pleased to announce none of our current recruits have resigned or have had a change of heart about being an officer as a result of the tragic night on July 7th.

Our next testing dates at police headquarters are August 18-21. We encourage those interested in becoming a Dallas Police officer to go to our website, dallaspolice.net, to begin the application process.
