The Dallas Fort Worth New Car Dealers Association chose to make the Dallas Police Department the recipient of its largest donation ever. The DFW NCDA gave the department 14 brand new Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles and additional equipment totaling $1 million. Following the July 7th ambush, members of the group felt compelled to assist Dallas Police and the community by donating the new equipment for officers.
Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown said, “We are so thankful to the New Car Dealer Association for such a generous gift. These vehicles and the additional donation for protective equipment will be used by officers assigned to our patrol emergency response teams who respond to some of the most critical and dangerous incidents in the city. The public will also have an opportunity to view these specially equipped vehicles when they are displayed at special events such as National Night Out and Chief on the Beat. Support from stakeholders in our community is what helps keep our officers safe and what makes Dallas the safest city in the country.”
The four Dallas Police officers killed in the ambush on July 7, 2016 were members of their patrol station’s response teams. This donation is so valuable for our officers’ safety and the safety of our community. Thank you again DFW NCDA!
