Community Awareness Bulletin: Sexual Assault in Deep Ellum

Update to Person of Interest Bulletin

On September 18, 2016 at 3:00 a.m., a white female in her 20’s was walking alone in the 3300 block of Elm Street in Deep Ellum. She was approached on foot by two black males. The suspects, armed with a weapon, both sexually assaulted the complainant.    

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of DART Police Detectives and Dallas Police Detectives, both suspects in this case have been identified.   Detectives were able to put together additional evidence linking both suspects to the crime. A forensic comparison was completed and the results came back with a positive match on both suspects, who have been formally charged for this offense. There are no additional suspects wanted in connection to this offense.  

The suspects arrested in this case are juveniles and their information will not be released.

On September 18, 2016 at 3:00 a.m., a white female in her 20’s was walking alone in the 3300 block of Elm Street in Deep Ellum. She was approached on foot by two unknown Black males. One of those males was armed with a weapon and quickly approached the female and grabbed her. Both suspects then sexually assaulted the complainant.  

The first suspect is described as a Black male approximately 18-years-old, 5’6”, skinny build, short curly hair, wearing a dark gray T-shirt and black shorts with white socks. The second suspect is described as a shorter black male, T-shirt, black shorts and a black baseball cap. 

Citizens are being asked to be on alert for any persons within the vicinity of this reported offense that match the description of these suspects.
