The Veterans Day Parade will be taking place on November 11, 2016 at 11:15 AM in downtown Dallas. Please take note of the following street closures and time frame.
Staging Area: The Staging Area will be established on Houston Street from Wood Street to Young Street, and the Houston Street Viaduct. The Houston Street Viaduct will be utilized for the staging, line up of floats and bus drop off of all participants. The Staging Area will be secured at 8:00AM.
Parade Route: The parade route begins at the intersection of Houston and Young Streets and will precede north on Houston Street then east on Main Street, south on Ervay Street, west on Young Street, south on Akard Street, east on Marilla Street, south on Ervay Street to finish off at Canton Street.
Dispersal Area: The Dispersal Area will be on Canton Street between Ervay Street and Akard Street directly behind city hall.
Street Closures: From the hours of 8:00AM – 2:00PM the following streets will be closed in the staging area: Reunion Boulevard East from Houston Street to Hotel Street from reunion Boulevard East to Cadiz Street..
From 10:00AM – 2:30PM the following streets will be closed for intermittent traffic control (ITC); Canton Street between Ervay Street and Akard Street, Marilla Street between Akard Street and Ervay Street, Akard Street between Young Street and Marilla Street and Browder Street between Canton Street and Cadiz Street. Lamar Street, Griffin Street and Commerce Street at Houston Street and Ervay Street will remain open along the parade route to facilitate incoming and outgoing Downtown traffic.
From 10:45AM – 1:00PM the following streets will be closed until shortly after the parade passes: Houston Street from Young to Main Street, from Houston to Ervay Street from Main to Young Street, Young Street from St. Paul to Field Street, Akard Street from Wood Street, to Canton Street, Ervay Service Drive from Young Street to Canton Street.
