Officer Involved Shooting – 11300 LBJ Freeway

The suspect in this incident has been identified as Phan Phang, a 48-year-old Asian male. He is being charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant.

On December 7, 2016 at about 12:00 a.m., Dallas Police officers responded to an assist officer call from Lewisville Police. Lewisville Police and Farmers Branch Police were involved in a vehicle chase with a burglary suspect that ended in the 11300 block of LBJ Freeway.  

The suspect, a 48-year-old Asian male,  fled on foot and fired his weapon at the Lewisville and Farmers Branch Police officers. The suspect continued to run and was located by Dallas Police. The suspect fired his weapon at the Dallas Police officer who then returned fire striking the suspect. No officers were injured during this incident. The suspect is in custody and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
