Technical Issue with T-Mobile Devices Causing 911 Hang Up Calls

The City of Dallas 911 Call Center has experienced issues regarding repeated 911 calls involving T-Mobile cell phone service. In certain instances the T-Mobile subscribers’ mobile device may make multiple 911 hang-up calls without the users knowledge after having legitimately placed a 911 call for service. Each time a duplicate call is made, it will require a Police Communications employee to do a callback in order to verify whether or not emergency service is needed. 

We are continuing to work with T-Mobile and our City Communications and Information Systems in order to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
