Connecting Communities: Faith & Fellowship

On February 7, 2017 the Office of Community Affairs kicked off their new initiative “Connecting Communities: Faith & Fellowship”. Over 60 churches and faith-based organizations from across the city were invited to Jack Evans Police Headquarters.cc4

Such initiatives give us the opportunity to establish and maintain our connections with the faith-based community. Community Affairs shared the unit’s background and spoke about their efforts and events such as “Coffee with Cops” and “Chief on the Beat”. It also provided an excellent opportunity for Community Affairs to present their purpose, mission and 2017 initiatives. A significant portion of the “Connecting Communities: Faith & Fellowship” meeting allowed us the opportunity to hear directly from faith-based leaders and receive feedback and suggestions on how we can be plugged into their neighborhood efforts and better serve their communities.

We are looking forward to our future “Connecting Communities: Faith & Fellowship” meetings. If you would like to get more information about future meetings give Community Affairs a call at 214-671-4045.
