Battle of the Badges on Ice: Dallas PD vs. Fort Worth PD

The Dallas Police Hockey team took the ice on Saturday, February 11th in a friendly rivalry game against the Fort Worth Police Hockey team. The Fort Worth Police Hockey team hosted the event and proceeds from admission went to the Fort Worth Assist the Officer Foundation and Brotherhood of the Fallen.

The game started with a ceremonial puck drop by the children of fallen Little Elm Detective Jerry Walker. There was also a surprise appearance by Fort Worth Officer Matt Pearce, who was shot and injured in the line of duty in March of 2016. Both teams played to a packed house at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Euless. The teams were evenly matched and battled in a close game until Fort Worth PD scored two goals in the third period to win the match 8-6.

If you missed out this weekend, don’t worry, rumor has it there will be a rematch later this year. For more information about the Dallas PD Hockey team, be sure to like their Facebook page “Dallas PD Hockey” and follow them on Twitter @DPDhockey. Go DPD!!!
