On April 24, 2017, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Dallas Police Officers responded to an active shooter call

at the 8300 block of LBJ Freeway Service Road. Dallas Police Officers responded to the location in the building where the shooting had occurred and discovered that the possible shooter was in a meeting room.  Officers were forced to utilize a shotgun to breach the front office door.  At this time, this is the only shot fired by an officer of which the Department is aware.

Upon entering the interior meeting room, officers located a deceased White female and White male.  It is believed that the male shot the female and then killed himself.  One of the officers suffered minor injuries from broken glass during the entry.   That officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

SWAT officers conducted an extensive floor-by-floor search of the building for suspects, and to ensure that all tenants who had shelter were safely escorted from the building.  This was completed at 12:49 p.m.

The Department’s Special Investigations Unit will conduct the investigation into the incident.  The identities of the deceased individuals will not be released until next of kin notifications have been made.
