Today, May 15, 2017, at Rosemont Elementary, Verizon announced it’s donation of $50,000 to the Dallas Police Department’s Youth Foundation. Verizon’s two-year commitment to the Dallas Police Youth Foundation will sponsor Blue in the School program. This generous donation will help the Blue in the School program reach more than 6,000 students.
Blue in the School is a curriculum developed for 4th grade students covering the Six Pillars of Character with uniformed Dallas police officers serving as instructors and mentors. These character traits—trustworthiness, fairness, caring, respect, citizenship and responsibility—are critical for the students’ success in school and in life.
The Dallas Police Department, students, staff at Rosemont Elementary, and Verizon employees gathered to celebrate Blue in the School and the continued investment. The Department appreciates the continued support from Verizon.
